Today, I’m gonna walk you through how I applied for my Bangladesh passport online. It wasn’t as tough as I thought it would be, but there were a few bumps along the way. Hopefully, my experience can help some of you out there.

First things first, I had to figure out if e-passports were even available in my area. Turns out, there was a passport office not too far from where I live, so that was good news. Then, I jumped onto the internet and Googled “e-passport online registration portal”.

Once I got to the right website, I started filling in all my details. It asked for stuff like my name, date of birth, address, you know, the usual. Make sure you double-check everything you type in, because you don’t want to mess that up.

  • I gathered all the documents they asked for.
  • My National ID Card, which is super important.
  • My birth certificate, had to dig that one out.
  • And my old passport, since I was renewing.

I went through all the steps on the website, filling in more forms. I don’t remember each step but just follow along and fill each field. Then I hit a snag – I couldn’t remember my password for the online application account! Yeah, I know, not my brightest moment. I tried the “forgot password” option, which sent a reset link to my email. Crisis averted.

Oh, and another thing, the website let me change my registered mobile number and email address, which was pretty handy. I didn’t need to change them at that time, but it’s good to know you can.

After filling in everything, I submitted my application and waited. You have to make an appointment online, which I did. A few days later, I got a confirmation that my application was received. Then it was just a matter of waiting for the appointment date.

On the day of the appointment, I made sure to have all my documents with me. I went to the passport office, waited in line for a bit, and then got called up. They checked my documents, took my photo and fingerprints, and that was pretty much it.

Now, I’m just waiting for my new e-passport to arrive. Overall, it wasn’t too bad of an experience. Just make sure you have all your documents, double-check your information, and don’t forget your password like I did!

I hope this helps anyone who wants to apply for their e-passport.
