And for overseas Pakistanis, they offer NICOP completely online. I think that is very considerate of them.
Next up was the form-filling part. They asked for all the usual details – name, address, family info, you know the drill. I filled everything out, double-checked for any typos, and moved on to the next step. This is where it got a bit tricky. I had to upload scanned copies of my documents. There were specific guidelines on how to scan them, like the resolution and file size. I followed the instructions carefully because I didn’t want any delays in my application.

I opted for the normal one, which was supposed to take about 30 working days after payment. The urgent category is faster, around 12 working days, but it costs more. I decided to save some money and go with the normal option.
I kept an eye on my application status through the portal. It was kind of exciting to see it move from “submitted” to “in process” and finally to “printed.” After it was printed, they shipped it to my address. The whole waiting game was a bit nerve-wracking, but in the end, it all worked out.
My ID card arrived in the mail, and I was so relieved. The whole process, from start to finish, was quite smooth. There were a few moments where I was a bit confused, but the website had FAQs and guides that helped me out. If you need help, use those. They’re lifesavers.
