Okay, so I had to get a new passport, and since I’m from Swaziland, I needed a Swazi one. Apparently, you can do this online now, which is pretty cool. I figured I’d share my experience in case anyone else is in the same boat.
First things first, I went to the government website, found the immigration department section, and then clicked on “Travel documents and passports”. I found they had a passport application form online. This made it easy for me to know what kind of information I needed to prepare for the application.
After that, I started gathering all the documents they asked for. It was a bit of a scramble, to be honest, finding everything and making sure it was all up to date. I’m not the most organized person, so this took me a while. And yeah, I procrastinated a bit too, whoops!
Once I had all my ducks in a row, I went to the official website and filled out the application form. They have different types of applications depending on what you need, so make sure you pick the right one.
After filling out the form online, I went to the immigration department and submitted the form along with the other documents I had prepared. This part was pretty easy because I had already filled out the form online.
Then came the payment. You gotta pay for the passport, obviously. The fee was reasonable, nothing too crazy. I paid it, got my receipt, and that was that.
Now, the waiting game begins. I heard it takes a few weeks to process, so I’m just chilling and waiting for that email or call saying it’s ready. Fingers crossed it comes soon! Overall, the process wasn’t too bad. The online part definitely made things smoother.
- Step 1: Visited the government website.
- Step 2: Found the immigration department and the “Travel documents and passports” section.
- Step 3: Gathered all the required documents.
- Step 4: Filled out the application form online.
- Step 5: Submitted the form and documents to the immigration department.
- Step 6: Paid the passport fee.
- Step 7: Waiting for the passport to be processed.
If you’re a Swazi citizen and need a passport, I hope this helps you out. Good luck!
