Alright, folks, let me tell you about the time I tried to get a Mozambique passport online. It was quite the adventure, I gotta say.
First things first, I had to figure out if I was even eligible. Turns out, you gotta be a Mozambican citizen. Who knew, right? So, I dug up my citizenship documents—thank goodness I kept those handy.
Finding the application form
Next up, I went to the Mozambique Passport Office website. I found the application form there.
They say you can get most of the things done online, but guess what? You still have to print out the form, fill it out the old-fashioned way, and gather all your original documents and photos. And let me tell you, finding a place that still does passport photos was a challenge in itself!
Filling the form
I started filling the form. The website had pretty clear instructions, so that part wasn’t too bad. I just filled in my personal info, double-checked everything about a million times—you know how it is. Oh, and they took my passport photos right there during the application, that was convenient.
Submitting everything
Once I had everything filled and printed, I had to figure out where to submit it. I decided to go in person to a Mozambican Post outlet since I wasn’t traveling overseas.
I went there, waited in line for a bit, and finally submitted my form and documents. The person at the counter gave me a registration number. Said that I will use it to collect my passport. So, I guess they’ll let me know when it’s ready, and I’ll head back to pick it up.
Waiting game
Now comes the waiting. I heard it can take anywhere from 1 to 10 business days to get an e-visa, and around 6-8 weeks for a passport, but who knows? I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it’s on the shorter end of that range.
So, that’s where I’m at right now. Waiting for my passport. It’s a bit of a process, but hey, it’ll be worth it when I can finally take that trip I’ve been planning.
