Alright, so I finally got around to sorting out my Uruguay visa, and let me tell you, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I did it all online, which was super convenient. No running around to embassies or consulates, thank goodness. Here’s how it went down:
First things first, I did some digging online to figure out what I needed. A bunch of sites popped up, some of them were totally unrelated, others just a waste of time. But, I finally found what I needed to start the process. Found some stuff about payments too, even though that wasn’t what I was looking for at that time. Then I stumbled on some info about whether I even needed a visa for Argentina, and I was like, “Wrong country, dude.”
Then I tried to figure out where the official site for Uruguay visas was. I found the U.S. Customs site, but that was obviously not it. Then there was a site with a QR code for downloading some app for forwarding orders from Taobao and 1688. Seriously, what? But finally found the right one and got started.
