Today, I just feel like sharing my experience of getting a visa for the Ivory Coast. It wasn’t too complicated, to be honest. I wanted to go there for a little vacation, but first I needed to figure out if I even needed a visa. Turns out, yeah, I did.
So, the first thing I did was to hit up the internet. I found out that there are a bunch of countries whose citizens can just waltz into Ivory Coast without a visa, but mine wasn’t one of them. No big deal. I learned I could either go the traditional route and apply at an embassy or consulate, or I could do it all online and get an e-visa. The e-visa sounded way easier, and it’s supposed to be good for 90 days and get processed in about 48 hours or even less.
I decided to go with the e-visa. The process was pretty straightforward. I went to one of those visa service websites. I filled out a form with all my personal details and my travel plans. It was just basic stuff, nothing too nosey.
Here are a few things I needed to apply:
- My passport: I made sure it was valid.
- Yellow Fever vaccination proof: I already had this, which is important because you need it to enter the country.
After I filled everything out, I had to pay the visa fee and the service fee for the website. I just used my credit card, and that was that.
Now, the waiting game. They said it would take about 48 hours, but I actually got my e-visa in less time than that. I was pretty stoked! It was all digital, so I just printed it out and also saved it on my phone.
All in all, it wasn’t a headache. Just fill out the forms, make sure you’ve got your vaccination proof, pay the fees, and wait a bit. Then, you’re good to go. I’m really looking forward to my trip now!
