Hey everyone, today I’m going to share my experience of getting a Croatian passport. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be, but there were definitely some steps involved. So, if you’re thinking about getting one, hopefully, this will give you an idea of what to expect.
Figuring Out Where to Start
First off, I had to figure out where to even apply for this thing. Turns out, you can apply at any administrative police station in Croatia. It doesn’t matter if you live there or not. The important thing is that the applicant has to apply in person, or parents can do it for their kids.
Getting My Documents in Order
Next up, I needed to get all my documents together. This part was a bit of a headache, but totally manageable. If you’re renewing, you gotta bring your current or expired Croatian passport. And if it’s expired, don’t forget your citizenship certificate – they call it Domovnica. I also had to show some sort of ID to prove who I was.
Submitting the Application
Alright, so once I had all my documents, I went down to the police station and submitted my application. The whole process was pretty straightforward. I filled out some forms, handed over my documents, and that was pretty much it.

Waiting Game
After that, it was just a waiting game. They told me it would take a few weeks to process, so I just had to be patient. I kept myself busy with other stuff while I waited.

Finally, the day came when I got the call that my passport was ready! I went back to the police station, picked it up, and boom – I was officially a Croatian passport holder. It felt pretty good to finally have it in my hands. I can now travel around many countries around the world with this new passport!
