Okay, so I’ve been meaning to share this for a while, and it’s about that time I tried to get a visa for Montenegro. It wasn’t too crazy, but definitely a bit of a learning curve.
First things first, I gotta figure out if I even needed a visa. Turns out, it depends on where you’re from and how long you’re planning to stay. For me, I did need one since I wanted to stay for a bit longer to really soak in the place.
Figuring Out the Visa Type
So, there are a couple of different visa types. You got your short-term ones, which they call Type C, and the long-term ones, Type D. I went for the long-term one because, why not? More time to explore, right?
Getting the Documents Ready
Next up, the paperwork. Oh boy, the paperwork. I had to fill out this visa application form. It was pretty standard stuff, nothing too complicated. Then, I needed my passport, of course. It had to be valid for at least 90 days after I planned to leave Montenegro. They’re pretty strict about that, so double-check your dates!
Official Website Time
I had to hit up the official website of the Montenegro Ministry of Foreign Affairs. That’s where you start the whole eVisa process. It’s all online, which is pretty convenient. No running around to embassies or anything.
Putting It All Together
- Filled out the application form online. Pretty straightforward.
- Made sure my passport was good to go. Check, check, and check.
- Submitted everything through the website. Just followed the steps they laid out.
After that, it was just a waiting game. I gotta say, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. They were pretty clear about what was needed, and the online system made things easier. Eventually, I got the green light, and my visa was approved! It took a bit of patience, but hey, it was totally worth it to be able to spend time in such a beautiful country.
So yeah, that’s my little adventure with getting a Montenegro visa. Hopefully, this helps someone out there who’s thinking about doing the same. It’s really not that scary, just gotta be organized and follow the steps. Trust me, if I can do it, you can too!
