Okay, so I wanted to get myself an Angolan driver’s license, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a journey. I started by looking into the whole process online, trying to figure out where to even begin.

First thing I did was find a certified driving school. I mean, you gotta learn the rules of the road, right? So, I enrolled and started taking both theory and practical driving lessons. They were pretty thorough, I gotta say.

  • Registered at a driving school. Did the whole classroom thing, learned about traffic signs and all that jazz.
  • Took those practical driving lessons. You know, actually getting behind the wheel with an instructor.

While I was doing that, I started digging into the online application part. I found out that Angola has an online application process for an International Driving Permit. Good thing I found out there is an online process, and I don’t need to go to any offices physically.

Then came the fun part – filling out the application form online. I needed to provide a copy of my valid driver’s license, my handwritten signature, and a color ID photo. Pretty standard stuff. I made sure to upload a clear, passport-type photo, just like they asked.

  • Filled out the IDP application form. Typed in all my details, double-checked everything.
  • Uploaded my documents. Scanned my license, took a selfie. Easy peasy.

I also found out that to be eligible to get a full driving license, you have to be at least 16 years old to be able to drive mopeds. I’m obviously way past that age, so it’s all good for me.

After submitting everything, I just had to wait. They said I’d get approved in minutes, and guess what? They weren’t kidding! It was super quick. I got an email saying I was approved, and just like that, I had my International Driving Permit.

  • Submitted my application. Hit that submit button and crossed my fingers.
  • Got approved! Woohoo! Received the confirmation email pretty fast.

The whole process was surprisingly smooth. The online application made everything so much easier. I’m now all set to drive in Angola, and I didn’t even have to deal with too much bureaucracy. It is a great experience!

A piece of cake!

If you’re planning to drive in Angola, I definitely recommend checking out the online application. It saves you a lot of time and hassle.

Oh, and a little tip for anyone planning to drive there – don’t forget your International Driving Permit! It’s a must-have, especially if you are planning on renting a car.

And if you ever need to get your full driving license there, make sure you are at least 16 years old if you’re planning to drive a moped. Well, that’s about it, good luck and safe travels!
