You wouldn’t believe what I just did – I got myself a Guinea-Bissau passport. Yeah, you heard that right. It all started a few weeks ago when I was thinking about traveling more and having more options, you know? So, I began looking into it, did a ton of Google searches, and stumbled upon some info about getting a passport from Guinea-Bissau.
First things first, I checked out their official government website. It was kinda cool because it’s available in Portuguese, French, and English. There, I got a basic idea of what I needed to do. I mean, the website was not the fanciest, but hey, it had the necessary details.
Then, I got down to the nitty-gritty – filling out the application form. It was pretty standard stuff: name, address, birth date, you get the picture. I made sure to write everything super clearly because, you know, no room for mistakes with these official things.
Next up was figuring out the perks of having this passport. Turns out, it lets you into about 26 countries without needing a visa beforehand, which is pretty neat. There are also 24 countries where you just get a visa on arrival, and you can get an eTA for 1 country. There were also some mentions of it being the 181st or 83rd in some passport ranking thing, which, to be honest, I didn’t really pay much attention to. The main thing for me was just more travel freedom. It can also get protection and assistance at embassies in foreign countries.
I also found out they have different types of passports. The one I got was the ordinary one, just for regular folks like me who want to travel. They also have official passports, but that’s for government people, not my cup of tea.
The whole process took a bit of time, and I had to gather a bunch of documents. It wasn’t too hard, just a bit of a waiting game. After sending everything in, I just chilled and waited. And guess what? A few weeks later, this shiny new Guinea-Bissau passport arrived in the mail!
