Alright, so I needed to get myself a Croatian driving license. Here’s how it went down.
First off, I learned that there are a few ways to apply for it – you know, the usual regular, expedited, or urgent procedures. So, I decided to head over to the local police station to get things rolling. When I got there, a clerk helped me fill out the request form.
Then, I found out that they could actually deliver the license to my place via courier, which was pretty convenient. But, here’s the kicker – you can also submit a request online. Since I’ve already got my digital ID card thing activated with all the necessary certificates, I figured, why not give it a shot?
So, I went online and filled out the e-request. One cool thing about doing it online is that you get to choose whether to pick up the license at the police station or have it delivered.
Now, before any of this, I did some digging and found out that if you are a foreigner like me, you can drive in Croatia with your existing license, plus an International Driving Permit. But I wanted a local one anyway.
I also read up a bit on the whole process of getting a Croatian driver’s license, like enrolling in driving school and taking some tests. All in all, it was a bit of a process, but not too bad, I had to do some preparation, especially with the driving theory.
I went to the driving school, did my time, took the tests, and waited. It was a whole waiting game but I got some good practice in.
I learned the essential steps, and I’ll say, the training was pretty good. They made sure I was ready.
Finally, I got the news that my application was approved. I chose to have it delivered to my home, and a few days later, there it was. No need to pick it up myself.
So yeah, that’s my story of getting a Croatian driving license. It was a bit of an adventure, but I got there in the end!
