Okay, so, I tried to get an Angolan passport online, and let me tell you, it was quite the adventure. First off, I had to figure out what the heck I was doing because I’d never applied for a passport online before. I heard it’s supposed to make things easier, something about streamlining the process.
I started by looking up what I needed. Seems like everyone going to Angola needs a passport that’s good for at least 9 months. Lucky me, mine was, but barely! I saw that people from Mozambique, Namibia, and South Africa get to visit without a visa for a bit, but that didn’t help me.
Then, I had to get all my documents together. They wanted an application form filled out, which was a pain. I also needed passport-sized photos. I went and got those taken at one of those photo booths. They also needed proof I had a place to stay in Angola, so I booked a hotel and used that confirmation. And of course, they needed to see my actual passport.
Submitting Everything
The actual application process involved me uploading all these documents online. I had to scan everything in, which took forever. I made sure to double-check that all the information was correct because I didn’t want to mess this up. I heard that if your application gets rejected, it’s a real headache to sort out.
Waiting Game
After I submitted everything, it was just a waiting game. I kept checking my email every day, hoping to see that my application was approved. They say you can get it within 48 hours, especially for business, work, or study, but mine took a bit longer. I guess tourist visas aren’t as urgent.
Finally, I got the email saying it was approved! I was so relieved. It felt like a huge weight off my shoulders. Now, I just need to figure out the rest of my trip, but at least the hardest part is over.
- Get your documents ready: application form, photos, passport, proof of accommodation.
- Submit online: Scan everything and fill out the forms carefully.
- Wait for approval: It might take a few days, so be patient.
All in all, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, but it definitely took some time and effort. If you’re planning to visit Angola, make sure you start this process early, just in case!
