I have been thinking about getting a Sri Lanka driving license for a while now, and recently I finally got it. The whole process wasn’t too complicated, but there were a few things I wish I’d known beforehand. So, I thought I’d share my experience here for anyone else who’s thinking of doing the same.
Starting Line
First, I tried to do research about the process of getting a new driving license. There’s a bunch of information online. It was a bit overwhelming to look at all of them.
Gathering Documents
After digging around online, I found out that there are three steps to get the learner’s. And I made a list of all the documents I needed. Then I gathered all the necessary documents. This included my passport, visa, and a few other things. I made sure to make copies of everything, just in case.
Test Time
Next, I signed up for the test. I was a bit nervous about the test since I had heard some stories, but it wasn’t too bad. I made sure to check all the possible questions I could find.
Paperwork
After I passed, I did some more paperwork. Filling out forms is never fun, but it had to be done. The staff were pretty helpful, which made things a bit easier. I submitted everything and was told to wait for a few weeks.
The Wait
Waiting is always the hardest part. I kept checking my mail every day, hoping to see that envelope. Finally, after about three weeks, it arrived! I was so excited and relieved.
License in Hand
I got my Sri Lanka driving license! It felt great to finally have it in my hand. Now I can drive around Sri Lanka. The whole process took a few months from start to finish, but it was worth it. If you’re planning on getting your license here, just be patient and make sure you have all your documents in order. You’ll get there!
That’s my experience with getting a driving license in Sri Lanka. I hope this helps anyone who’s going through the same process. Feel free to ask if you have any questions!
