Okay, so I wanted to go to Swaziland, or Eswatini, as it’s called now. First things first, I needed to figure out if I even needed a visa.
I did some digging around, and it turns out that for some folks, like those from the US, Canada, and the UK, a visa isn’t required for a short trip. But, since I’m not from any of those places, I had to get one.
I found out that you could apply for it online, which sounded pretty convenient. So, I went to their official website – I won’t put the link here, but it was easy enough to find with a quick search. Their website mentioned a secure online system. I like the sound of it.
The website said there were just 3 simple steps: Fill Application, Pay Online and Get e-Visa authorization via email. Sounded simple enough. The application form was right there on the site. It asked for the usual stuff – name, passport details, travel dates, and so on. I filled it all out, double-checked everything, and then moved on to the payment part.
They had a few different payment options, and I picked the one that worked best for me. Paid the fee, and got a confirmation email almost instantly. That felt good. The email said I’d get my e-Visa within a few days.
And guess what? They were right! A couple of days later, another email popped up, and there it was – my e-Visa! I printed it out to have a physical copy, just in case.
- Checked if I needed a visa (turns out I did).
- Found the official Eswatini e-Visa website.
- Filled out the online application form.
- Paid the visa fee online.
- Got the e-Visa via email after a few days.
Here’s a quick rundown of what I did:
Honestly, the whole process was pretty smooth. No need to go to any embassy or deal with a lot of paperwork. If you’re planning to visit Eswatini and need a visa, I’d definitely recommend going the online route. It’s way less of a headache!
Oh, and before I forget, they also mentioned about having health insurance. Now, I already had that sorted out, but it’s something you might want to look into. The website I visited mentioned that you may need to provide the Authentication of your health insurance. It’s always better to be safe than sorry, right?
So yeah, that’s my story of getting an e-Visa for Eswatini. I hope this helps someone out there who’s planning a trip. Trust me, if I can do it, anyone can!
