So, I’ve been meaning to get my driver’s license sorted out for a while now, and I finally decided to take the plunge and do it online. I heard it was possible to get a learner’s license with a QR code online in Bangladesh, so I thought, “Why not give it a shot?”
First things first, I had to fill out the Driving Licence Application Form. I found out that this form is available at the BRTA office, but since I was doing everything online, I figured there must be a digital version somewhere. I did a little digging and found the online portal for the application.
Once I got to the website, I started filling out the form. It was pretty straightforward, asking for the usual stuff like my name, address, and other personal details. After I filled everything in, I had to pay a fee. I did this, and then moved on to the next step which involved a test.
- Filled out the Driving Licence Application Form online.
- Provided personal details and information.
- Paid the required fee through the portal.
I prepared for the test using some online resources and guides I found. I made sure I understood all the rules and regulations properly. When I felt ready, I took the online test.
I passed the test, thankfully! Then I got the results through the online system. With the results in hand, I was able to get my learner’s license. It was a relief to have that part done.
Now, getting the learner’s license was just the first step. The next thing was to apply for the actual driver’s license. The process to check the status of the license is pretty easy too, and can be done online as well. I had to go back to the website and follow their instructions to apply for the original license.
What I Did:
- Studied for the driving test.
- Took the online test.
- Received the test results through the system.
- Applied for the original driving license.
One thing I learned is that you gotta be careful with the format of your license number when you’re checking its status. Apparently, it follows a specific pattern: two letters, a hyphen, and then five or six digits. It doesn’t matter if the letters are uppercase or lowercase. Just make sure you get the format right.
Overall, the whole process was smoother than I expected. I mean, there were a few moments where I got a bit confused, but I managed to figure things out by doing some searching online and asking around.
So yeah, that’s how I got my Bangladesh driving license online. It was a bit of an adventure, but I’m glad I did it. Now, I’m one step closer to hitting the road legally!
