So, I finally got around to applying for that Guyana visa online. Figured I’d share my experience since it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
First off, I started by searching for the official Guyana e-Visa website. I saw a couple of different sites, but I made sure to find the official government one. You know, just to be safe. Better safe than sorry.
Once I found the right website, I clicked on the “Apply Now” button – pretty standard stuff. This took me to the application form, which was a bit lengthy, but hey, it’s a visa application, so what can you expect?
I filled out all the usual details: my name, address, passport info, travel dates, you get the idea. I made double sure to input everything correctly because I didn’t want any issues later on. And I carefully chose that I am applying for a Tourist Visa. They also asked for a photo of myself and a scan of my passport, so I uploaded those. Nothing too complicated there.
After that, I reviewed everything one last time. Like I said, I’m a bit paranoid about these things. Then I hit the submit button and moved on to the payment section. They accepted credit cards, so I used mine. The payment went through smoothly, and I got a confirmation email right away.
- They say it takes at least a month to process, so I applied well in advance of my planned travel date. I suggest anyone who’s planning to go to Guyana to do the same. Don’t wait until the last minute!
- One important thing, though – they don’t offer the electronic visa (e-Visa). So no online application process, you have to submit everything by physical copy, which is a bit of a bummer in this digital age.
Things to note:
And that’s pretty much it. Overall, it was a straightforward process. Just make sure you have all your documents ready and double-check everything before you submit. Now, I just have to wait for my visa to be approved. Fingers crossed!
