Okay, here is a blog post detailing my experience applying for a Mozambique visa online:
So, I’ve been planning this trip to Mozambique for a while now. Beautiful beaches, amazing wildlife, the works. But you know what’s not so beautiful? Figuring out the visa process. Thankfully, Mozambique offers an eVisa, which means I could apply online and skip the whole embassy visit thing. Let me tell you, it wasn’t as smooth as I hoped, but I got it done. Here’s how it went down.
First things first, I hit up the official Mozambique eVisa website. Note that there are many websites, be sure to find the right official website. I saw somewhere that said you need to create an account, so I did that. Put in my email, created a password, the usual stuff. Once that was sorted, I logged in and started the actual application.
The application form itself was a bit of a beast. They wanted all sorts of information: passport details, travel dates, where I’m staying, you name it. I double-checked everything because you really don’t want to mess up your visa application. There was even a section about why I was visiting. Seemed like they had different categories, like tourism, business, and visiting family. I selected tourism, because that was just what I did.
There was a part where I needed to upload documents. I think it was my passport photo and a scan of my passport’s info page. Made sure those were clear and followed their guidelines. They also asked for proof of accommodation, so I uploaded my hotel booking confirmation. Honestly, figuring out what they wanted for each document was a bit of a guessing game, but I just went with what made the most sense.
- Created an account on the official eVisa website.
- Filled out the application form with personal and travel details.
- Uploaded necessary documents, including passport photo and hotel booking.
- Paid the visa fee online using my credit card.
After submitting everything, came the waiting game. Some folks online said they got their visas in a couple of days, but mine took a bit longer. I think it was around 8 business days before I finally got the email saying my visa was approved. What a relief! They sent a PDF of the visa, which I printed out.
All in all, getting the Mozambique eVisa wasn’t the simplest thing in the world, but it was definitely doable. Just make sure you have all your documents ready, double-check everything on the application, and be patient while waiting for the approval. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some beaches to get to!
